(***Note the New +++ Three Programs!)

Sunday
beginning 01/10/10

The Beautiful Basics (12 weeks ++Three!; $240) The Brazilians call their brand of soccer, "The Beautiful Game". Here at NTL, we call the process of studying, practicing, eating/sleeping/fully assimilating into bone marrow the fundamentals of basketball, "The Beautiful Basics". On a Sunday morning in Porter Square join Coach Emeritus Adam Pritchard in worshiping the game (and get a great sweat while doing it!). Click here to register!

Intermediate Plus+ Skills & Scrimmage Clinic (12 weeks++Three!; $240) -- Click here to read reviews!
Dazzling combination of structured drills and game-like scrimmaging, just like a college or pro practice! Approximately 1/3rd of the time is spent on individual skills work (ballhandling, shooting, shot fakes, post moves, etc.). 1/3rd on team skills (screening, shaping up off screens, spacing, where to go on the floor and when to go there, team defense, fastbreak situations, etc.), and 1/3rd of the time in controlled scrimmages during which the coach blows the whistle to remind players of the things we were developing and hoping to implement into our "games" during the drills. Really, as a player hoping to further develop skills, what could be better? Click here to register!

+++Three means sign-up for a 10 or 12 week practice program and you get to come to three additional practices anytime, any day or night during the term. HooWee! (Limit of one +++ Three per person.)

Monday
beginning 01/11/10

"Pick & Roll: The Top Ten Offensive P&R Possibilities Clinic" (10 weeks ++Three!; $200)
Pass the ball to someone and go screen his/her defender: it's the first thing kids learn to do when they graduate from yelling "me, me, me". At NTL, we have never taught pick & roll simply because we wanted players to get used to screening AWAY from the ball. Now, after 17 years of NTL, we think you are ready. NBA players work on pick & roll every day because it has so many variations and possibilities and nuances that it takes a whole lot of practice to get good at it. Many do not master it. Under Coach Bzomowski's legendary tutelage, you will. This is your chance to earn your Pick & Roll certification. Click here to register!

The Post Play Clinic! (New Again!) (10 weeks++Three!; $200) NEW!
A long-time friend of mine, a major college (as in multiple NCAA championships) coach has been a lead instructor at the famed Pete Newell Big Man Camps for close to twenty years. He recently gave me his teaching notes from those camps. The Pete Newell Big Man Camps have been attended by all the top NBA, NCAA and foreign centers since the 1980s. Here in the early part of the 2010s is your chance to learn what all the best have been doing. All players, big and small, wide and thin, should learn to post up. Part of what we teach - emphasize - is anyone can post up anyone! Position, catch, lock, locate, read the defense, master the footwork and all the moves: The Moses, The Bernard, The McHale, The Kiki, The Dominique! etc., etc. Click here to register!

Intermediate Skills & Scrimmage (12 weeks+++Three!; $240) -- Click here to read reviews!
Curtis Hall is a funky old gym. It's got the track oval up above and a floor that's a wee bit wavy. (Perfect excuse for a lost dribble.) It's a little like old school basketball, and the setting puts us in the mood to play the game right. The participants in this clinic come to learn and come to play. The scrimmages are always a nice extension of the drills and everyone seeks to make, recognizes, and acknowledges a good play. We always look forward to coaching the Tuesday night clinic. It's been a great one for years. (Open to Intermediate and higher level players only!) Click here to register!

Thursday
beginning 01/07/10

Nov/Int Skills & Scrimmage Clinic! (12 weeks ++Three!; $240)
The singularly most earnest of the NTL skills sessions. Players don't leave here without doing everything they can to "play the game right". The screening is not happenstance; the shots all come off a pass; the defense is intended to turn quickly into an offensive opportunity; the post-scrimmage chatter is lively and always looking to the next week. Be prepeared to do the drills that will make you better, from Week One till when the last whistle blows. Click here to register!

"Advanced" Skills & Scrimmage Clinic (12 weeks ++Three!; $240)
If you are good or pretend to be good or like to hang-out with those who can play the game (some), this is the place to be. The coaches here have permission to push just a little bit harder. The coaches here have permission to politely voice their displeasure at mistakes that are ready to be left behind once and for all. Why not take your game to the "next level"? Why not put yourself in a "no compromise" practice environment where what you will feel all around you is the desire to experience the game as you know you can play it? Click here to register!

Saturday
beginning 03/06/10 (call 1-888-NTL-HOOP for info)

Spring Play Forever League (PFL) (13 weeks plus Draft Day: $180/$140)

A league for players who want a no-hassle, well-organized, professionally run, totally fun and competitive basketball experience. Appropriate for high novice through low advanced men and women adult players. (If you are really good or, worse yet, think you are really good, this probably is not the league for you. Though we have plenty of good players, they manage to remain humble and honor the effort and desire of others.) Come to Draft Day (Saturday, 03/06/09), show us what you got, or don't got, and we place you on a team. (But sign-up beforehand; the league always sells out.) Players can request 1 or 2 or 3 specific teammates, but every effort is made to create teams of equal strength. Players receive numbered jerseys or shirts. We print full and accurate software generated NCAA-type box scores (example) with field goals, free throws, three-pointers [made and attempted], rebs [off. and def.], assists, turnovers, blocks, steals, fouls and minutes played to distribute at game's end. Cumulative season's team and individual stats (example) are kept as well. Referee and electronic scoreboard. 10 regular season games and 3 playoff games for all ten teams. Ball movement, team play, equal playing time, and competitive but sportsmanlike spirit are emphasized.
