| Never Too Early Basketball 2006 Schedule Acton, MA, July 11-14, 2006 Summer Vacation Day Camp, grades 2-8 (Gray Middle School) 9am-3pm Cost $160 (to register call 1-978-266-2525) Directors: Steve Bzomowski, former Harvard University coach and NBA scout and James White, former Harvard University standout. Program Description: Dependent on facility size, camps range between 30-100 kids. Typical player to coach ratio is 8:1. Staff includes local college and high school coaches and players. School vacation week camps run from 9am-12pm or from 1:30-4:30pm. Summer camps go from 9am- 3pm. All camps are Monday thru Friday (except Acton, MA). Philosophy: Emphasis is on instruction rather than competition. Areas covered include: dribbling, passing, shooting, defense, rebounding, and team play. Campers are encouraged to challenge themselves and measure their progress through their own achievement, not in comparison to the camper next to them. Scrimmages are controlled and frequently stopped by coaches to instruct and convey basic teaching points. Through positive reinforcement, we hope to instill confidence, unselfishness and the ability to work within a team concept. Most of all the staff makes sure the campers learn and have fun. Never Too Early & Community Ed. Responsibilities: The Never Too Early staff provides the coaching, instruction and basketballs while the community provides the gym and the publicity for the camp. Typically the community education programs places camp notices in their local newsletters. Participants register and pay through the comm. ed. department. *campers provide own snack and lunch The daily schedule for the Never Too Early Basketball Camps is subject to modification dependent upon the number of campers in attendance and the size of the basketball facility being used. For instance, there may be three rounds of games played per day or we may add an instructional video session. What stays constant is supportive, quality instruction with an emphasis on skill development and teamwork. |
